Location
The city lies in the north central part of the state of Maryland on the Patapsco River and is just 40 miles from Washington DC. It has a rich flora reserve and various species of trees can be spotted throughout the city, including white oak, elm, maple, sycamore, southern live oak, bradford pear, poplar, southern magnolia, even several species of Hardy palms and crepe myrtle.

The Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport locally called BMI is its main airport and is located in Linthicum, Maryland that is about 10 miles (16 km) from Baltimore and 30 miles (48 km) from Washington, DC. It also has a public airport, Martin State Airport that is located about 9 miles (14 km) from the city.
