Location
Hanoi is the capital city of Vietnam; it had an estimated population of 3,145,300 in the year 2005. From the eleventh century until the early nineteenth century, it was the political center of an independent Vietnam with a few interruptions. The city is located on the right bank of the Red River.

Airports
Noi Bai International Airport is the biggest airport in the northern part of the country that serves the capital city. The airport is 28 miles from the city's downtown. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to commute by taxi from downtown to the airport.
